01-27-2012 Good morning Divers!!! Current dive conditions around Laguna. The surf appears to be running 1-3 feet still and the County's rain advisory is still in place as I write this. The County usually sends me the updates around 9 AM and I expect the advisory to be lifted because it has been at least 3 days since the last rain we've had. I have been following the weather forecast and they say OC is supposed to get SA winds today & tomorrow. So that should knock down the surf even more. I will say viz today should be improving at 10-15 feet. On this idea of getting rid of the junk in Laguna. This w/e while you are out there diving, keep an eye out for old traps and remains of traps. Make sure you can locate it again by marking the depth and location. I want to get with Kurt a plan for removal. Our plans are ON for tomorrow. With the increased winds I expect the surf to be even less and the viz also better. I will look into my crystal ball and say viz should be 15+ feet depending on where we go into the water. Chamber Day, May 4th, 2011.
Chamber Day 2011. May 4th was Chamber Day. Each year the diving community gets together to raise money for the chamber at Catalina, the only chamber that is for diver use only. It is a non profit run chamber and they need divers to help support it. This year over $117k was raised. Great job for all those involved.

The only way to get an official SCD hat with your name on the back is to show up for one of our dives, then you too can order an SCD hat., to get one, show up on a Saturday and place an order with me.
